Two of us, @shikharkamat & I set out to make our first Ganesh idol, about eight years ago. He came down from Pune for the weekend especially to do that. @write2sonal pitched in remotely as she had stayed back in Holland after our holiday, as she was the only one amongst us who had experience with clay as a medium. We kept it simple. A triangle for the seated posture. A circle for the stomach, a ‘y’ shape for the head and trunk, and two semi circles for the years- all in 3d. Once we had the basic structure in place we added the hands. There was only one hitch- we were using recycled clay which (we now know) was of softer consistency and hence our idol did not dry till the day of the festival. But we were immensely thrilled because we thought it did look like Ganesha! #festival #ganesh #ganeshchaturthi #stories
