The real thing! The thali at the Toran Dining Hall! One place that I’ve been frequenting for over 25 years now. The food has been consistently good over all this time. You can taste the flavour of vegetable in each preparation here, something you can miss these days at most places- where the food looks good and is plated well but you can’t say the same thing about the taste & the flavours. The other thing is that the food here, rich as it is, still doesn’t make you feel heavy for the next few hours! Today’s meal had - ( left to right- Papad, Kabuli Chana my Shak, Bataks by rassawalu shak, Kobi, Bhindi, Kadhi, Dal, Aamras, Kachumbar, Meethi & Teekhi Chutney, Samosa, Sev Khamni, and Phulka/Bhakri/Puri, and Chaas! This was a regular on our eating out itinerary when we were in Ahmedabad and even now, years after we’ve moved out, we head here for our first afternoon meal every time we are back here.
