Monsoon is over, well that’s what they’re hoping because another shower will mean serious harm to the paddy that’s ready for being harvested - almost all of the monsoon vegetables I grew in small patches are at the end of their season- here is this mornings picks, with some marigold, also from the same patch- for colour. In the right bottom you’ll see a vegetable that’s new for me- the locals call it ‘absa’. Not only did they share the vegetable, they also gave me the recipe and the key ingredient-the home made spice mix of red chillies, black sesame, garlic and salt that they call ‘booki’ (Marathi for powder’) Post monsoon lots of vegetables, have just been planted...
