I remember that as kids we were fascinated by these prickly burs that would stick to your clothes if you brushed past it- we made a game out of them by chucking them on unsuspecting folks. All of which came back to me as I saw this plant again this morning! Apparently it’s name is Xanthium and it’s commonly called Cocklebur. This is the way the seeds are disseminated, travelling by far on bodies of grazing cattle and goats! Did any of you play with these too as kids? #naturestheatre #iphone7plus
